Assembly of the Crazyflie Micro Quadcopter Kit

This page has details about how to assemble the Crazyflie Micro Quadcopter Kit.

What's in the packet

  • Crazyflie control board
  • 4 x motor mounts (3D laser sintered nylon plastic)
  • 5 x coreless motors (one is as spare)
  • 4 x CW propellers
  • 4 x CCW propellers
  • 1 LiPo battery

Tools you need

  • Soldering iron
  • Glue (preferably hot glue)
  • Tweezers and a clamp or third-hand recommended

What do you need to do

TODO: Insert images here

  1. Check that you have everything that's needed
  2. Insert the motors into the motor mounts and twist the two wires together so they are easier to handle
  3. Put some solder on the motor pads on the front side of the PCB
  4. Attach the copter so it's standing on edge
  5. Heat the front side PCB pad with the soldering iron and insert the motor wire with the tweezers from the back side. Do the same for all the motors (see drawings blow for mapping)
  6. Put some glue on the tips of the wings and insert the motor mounts
  7. Attach the propellers (see drawings blow for mapping)
